Aged care and early learning, side by side on the coast.
Eyecoast Mobile Optometry · South East Qld & North East NSW
We bring the whole practice to you.
Eyecoast is a full mobile optometry service. We visit aged care facilities across South East Queensland and North East New South Wales, and we examine preschoolers on site, in the surrounds they already know.
Let us take the stress out of getting to a practice, whether that's for vulnerable residents or taking one more hassle off of busy parents' plates. We bring the whole practice with us.

Aged Care Examinations
A resident who can no longer travel to an optometry clinic still requires comprehensive eye care.
Anthony Stanich brings the full clinical examination to the resident's room or a designated consultation area within the facility, ensuring continuous monitoring of ocular health without the distress of transportation.
To arrange a visit for your residents, please call Anthony Stanich on 0414 413 180.
What an examination covers
Glaucoma
Eye pressure checking — Pressure damage is painless and permanent. Catching it is the point of measuring.
Macular degeneration
Screening — The leading cause of vision loss in older Australians.
Cataract
Assessment — Tells you whether a resident's difficulty is treatable, and when to refer.
Diabetic eye disease
Screening with digital retinal photography — A photograph of the retina, taken on site, kept for comparison next visit.
Glasses
Lenses and frames supplied if required — Fitted where the resident lives, with no second trip.
Early Learning Examinations
Children rarely complain about their eyes. They have nothing to compare them against. A child can see perfectly well with one eye and very poorly with the other, and never think to mention it.
Past a certain age, some of those problems can no longer be treated. The earlier one is found, the better the child sees for the rest of their life — which is why every child should have their vision checked before they start school.
To arrange a visit for your centre, please call Lesley Stanich on 0405 281 380.
What an examination covers
Vision & refraction
Acuity and lens testing — How clearly the child sees, and whether glasses would change that.
Binocular vision & eye muscle
Coordination testing — Whether both eyes work as a pair and follow a target together.
Colour vision
Colour vision testing — Colour confusion goes unnoticed at home and shapes how a child reads classroom material.
Eye health
Full health check — Examined with child-friendly equipment, while the child is already at ease.
Pricing
We believe in accessible eye care for everyone. Examinations are bulk billed to Medicare, so there are no out-of-pocket expenses.
Bulk billed to Medicare
Eye examinations are bulk billed directly to Medicare. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for the resident.
Aged Care
Direct private health claiming
Where a resident is insured and glasses are required, we claim directly to their private health fund.
Early Learning
One consent form first
Bulk billing applies once a consent form has been completed for the child, before the examination.
The two of us
Eyecoast was founded by Anthony and Lesley Stanich, both qualified optometrists, each with more than thirty-five years of clinical experience — for the express purpose of improving access to eye health for the people who find a regular practice difficult to reach.
We are based on the Gold Coast.
